We went up to Gaylord for Easter and celebrated with everyone on the Carrick side. Grandma Carrick’s birthday was on Saturday so we also celebrated that as well. Samantha and Jacob were both dressed up in their Easter Best. Samantha was full of it and enjoyed all the attention. Everyone one was glad to see us.

Looking for those Easter Eggs

Today we went and took Jacob and Samantha for a local Easter Egg Hunt. It was Sam’s first, Jacob went last year and had a great time so we thought it would be good to go again. Gretchen had to work so Corinne and Marissa came down to help out. I needed some extra sets of hands if I was going to get any pictures. They had 3 separate hunts one for ages 0-2, ages 3-7, and ages 7 and up. Sam was in the 0-2 and Jacob was in the 7 and up. Both kids had a great time. Sam wanted to get on the ground and crawl and was more interested in tasting the eggs than anything else. Jacob was a little upset as he didn’t get that many eggs this year but I told him that was because he moved up with the bigger kids and will get more next time.

Shortly after we caught Samantha reading her book she took an interest into the bottom of our living room table and before we knew it she was pulling  her self up onto the bottom part and sliding around and climbing down and back up. Well all this new activity wore her out and she fell asleep up there. We just had to get some pictures as well as a video of her climbing around.

I guess you could say Samantha started reading at a young age. Here are a couple of pics we snapped of here being really interested in one of her books.Gretchen was joking and said she took after me, filling my head with useless information. I then told her to look at the how the book was being held and we started laughing.

Jacob & Samantha with Santa

We went to the Manistee Elk’s with Gretchen’s Father and Corrinne for thier annual Christmas Party. Jacob was not feeling well so he didn’t have the best time but he did like the toy he got. Samantha was pretty calm with Santa and didn’t even cry. She just go the bewildered look on her face as you see in the photo above.

Winter Weather - Samantha Update.

Snowy Weather

Amazingly for Thanksgiving all the snow we did have melted. Then on Sunday as I was finishing up raking up the last of the leaves that had fallen right as the first snow came it started to snow again. In about an hour you couldn’t even see the ground, so I got it done just in time. They said we got about 8-12 inches between Manistee and Frankfort (where I work). We have even more coming down today.

It is still too early to get a good picture but Samantha just started getting her first teeth. Yes teeth. I noticed one on Sunday and then on Monday we can feel another one starting to pop out. They are her two bottom front teeth that are coming in. Also on the Samantha Front she hs started rolling over from her front to her back. She was laying on the floor watching Jacob and I play Mario cart playing with her toys and watching the TV when she started to jiggle and then rolled over. Now the fun begins.

Sam sad hearing about the Lions

After watching the Lions loose Sam and I decided to see if the Cowboys Game was going to be any better. Nope it was a barn burner as well.

Just some shots of Sam looking cute in her Excersaucer with a pretty pink bow in her head.

Happy Thanksgiving

Yum Turkey

Yesterday we had Thanksgiving here at our house. This year we stayed home to enjoy the day with Jacob and Sam and had a good time. We invited Gretchen’s Mom, Sister, and Dad over as well. The only sore spot was the Roarless Lions loosing again this year.

Samantha hadn’t been feeling to well the past couple of days but after a nap she was able to enjoy her first Thanksgiving and we got a few good shots. You can see more in the Photo Album up here.

We were even able to get Jacob to smile and ham it up for the camera.

Samantha was in such a good mood after eating her Sweet Potatoes the other day that we were able to catch her laughing and giggling up a storm.

We started giving Samantha some real food this past week. She wasn’t too sure of the Sweet Potatoes at first but she still eats them up pretty good. Some of the faces were priceless.
